RON TOMLINSON

A white man in a black coat is smiling while standing in the middle of a crowd of people.

Ron Tomlinson (1945-2018) was born in Boston, MA. He received his Masters of Fine Arts in 1969 from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College, where he studied under the tutelage of Philip Pearlstein. Tomlinson also earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Boston University, where he majored in painting as well as receiving minors in sculpture and psychology.

Over the years, the subject of South American immigration has featured predominantly in Tomlinson’s paintings and prints and the proximity of Fort Worth to the Mexican border is precisely the reason why.  Bearing witness to the results of thousands of border crossings, Tomlinson’s work examines issues of respect, trust, safety and dignity for all of those who seek peaceful refuge in the United States of America.
