NEW EXHIBIT: Bob Gruen's "Rock Seen"

"Rock Seen" is a carefully curated exhibit showcasing photographs and silkscreen prints by Bob Gruen, currently on display at City Winery Pier 57.

Artist Statement

"Music allows people the Freedom to express their feelings loudly in public, and in my work I try to capture these feelings. City Winery has for years, night after night, given many people the freedom and joy of expressing their feelings and I’m proud to have my work as a part of the City Winery experience. This exhibit is a retrospective of my career over the past 50 years, from Tina Turner to Green Day. They are mostly silver gelatin photo process prints and some archival pigment prints. Included in this display are two silkscreen print versions of my photos of John Lennon made by Gary Lichtenstein Editions, one at the Statue Of Liberty and one taken at the Fillmore East during rehearsals for John’s Madison Square Garden show. All images are for sale in various sizes via the QR code on the caption label."
